Our iNovus program provides a robust structure and platform for employee and client ideation.
iNovus captures innovation ideas at source, evaluates them on specific parameters and prioritizes them for further action. The program adheres to design thinking principles, where ideas are grouped as Roses, Buds and Seeds. Ideas that have already been implemented are roses; nascent ideas that can extrapolate are buds; and other ideas that have merit for clients but require long-term planning and investment resources are thorns to be revisited later.
We enable employees to fine tune selected ideas by providing relevant technological resources and partner them with colleagues who could bring additional skills, such as a software architect or a UX designer. Employees are also incentivized through a Rewards & Recognition program of quarterly, half-yearly and annual awards.
The name iNovus is a combination of “I” and “Novus” – Novus in Latin means new or extraordinary or fresh. So iNovus represents a new way to work, or when we innovate, the extraordinary emerges. We had invited Irisians to suggest a name for our innovation platform; we eventually selected iNovus from among the submissions.
Joint ideation with clients was possible in many cases. In other cases, we conducted Ideation sessions internally with our team members including architects, and then presented the process summary and outcomes to the client stakeholders. The shortlisted ideas from those internal ideation rounds were reviewed and prioritized with clients and included in the implementation pipeline.
“iNovus is a great initiative,” says a senior director at a global standards organization. “It has huge potential to bring a lot of value. It will be great if clients are involved right from start for better alignment with the business priorities.”
